You and Your Church

You are invited to unite with the First Baptist Church if deep in your heart you know that the church is of God; that in spite of human frailities, she has brought blessings untold to all generations; that she endeavors to make your community and country a better place in which to live, to work, to establish a home, and to rear children; that you would not want to live or die in a land where no church stands as a sentinel to point heavenward.

At the same time you will assume certain privileges and obligations. Your church affords you an opportunity for Christian growth and development, an opportunity for training through the various departments of church organization, and an opportunity for Christian service in the name of Christ to those at home and abroad.

With this comes the obligation to make the church and its work first in your life, to use your time and talents for the glory of God. The need is for every member to be consecrated, trained and enlisted in active service.

Your church is supported by your zeal, your prayers and your gifts. To attend its services is to strengthen its power, to encourage its members and to feed your own soul.

If you are faithful in these things, your church will go forward. Will you make your membership in this church really count for Christ?
