Rev. E. W. Marshall

1895-1896

The church met on May 22, 1895 and called Reverend E. W. Marshall of Louisville, Kentucky to the pastorate of the church. His salary was to be $40.00 monthly and railroad expenses. Reverend Marshall tendered his resignation on October 1, 1895.

During Reverend Marshall’s pastorate a Bible Institute was held with several pastors participating.

His father Reverend A.M. Marshall baptized him, and he was ordained at Harmony Church. He graduated from Mercer University in 1891 and served in the Mount Vernon Association from 1892 through 1895. He also pastored churches in Heard County.

For several years he was a teacher and principal of Tennille High School in Tennille, Georgia.

Reverend Marshall was born on April 8, 1871 and died on March 11, 1902.
