Dr. Stanley R. Hahn

1960 – 1970
Dr. Stanley R. Hahn was born August 22, 1920 in Charleston, SC., the son of James Reid Hahn and Freda Fauth Hahn. He accepted Christ in 1928 at the Citadel Square Baptist Church in Charleston, and was immersed by Dr. David I. Purser, Pastor.
On June 24, 1944 he married Dorothy Dodd Mosley, and they are the parents of four children, Stanley R. Hahn, Jr., Laura Ellen, Gloria, Jeanne, and Jamey Russell.
After graduation from high school in Charleston, he attended the college of Charleston from 1938 to 1939, and then in 1942, and again in 1945, where he received an A.B. Degree in Classical Greek. From the Moody Bible Institute in 1941, he was awarded a diploma in General Music.
Dr. Hahn next attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY, from 1945 to 1948, from which he received a B.D. Degree, and in 1948 through 1950 was awarded a Th. D. Degree, majoring in Greek New Testament, and minoring in Old Testament and Church History.

Dr. Hahn participated also in military and public services, and was a member of several civic and fraternal organizations. For recreation he won several contests in sports.
