Rev. J. Ware Brown

1893-1895

On September 30, 1893, Reverend J. Ware Brown of Hartwell, Georgia was called unanimously to serve the Dublin Baptist Church and he accepted with the understanding for four Sundays of each month. On Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, 1893, the 28th anniversary of the Sunday School was observed in conjunction with celebrating Thanksgiving with an appropriate program in charge of Deacon I. S. Chappell.

The pastor made a report stating that he did not have full knowledge of the spiritual condition of the church, but indications were decidedly good. He reported that all appointments had been met and he had made 25 pastoral visits, baptized one, received one by letter, and duly administered on the first Sunday in November.

On May 5, 1895, Pastor Brown tendered his resignation to take effect at once, which was accepted by the church.
