Rev. R. L. Baker

From 1918 to 1919

Rev. R. L. Baker from New Orleans, LA , served as pastor of First Baptist Church from 1918 to 1919.

Under his leadership the old house of worship of the Presbyterian church of Dublin on Jefferson Street was bought by the First Baptist Church in 1919. The Presbyterian Church moved to it’s present location on Bellevue Avenue. Fifty-one members were released by the First Baptist Church to become charter members of another Baptist Church in Dublin. On October 12, 1919, the Jefferson Street Baptist was organized.
