| Services for Rev. James I. "Jim" Brown, 72, of Dexter, will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Dublin with burial in the Chauncey City Cemetery. Revs. Wayne Durden and Keith Hall will officiate. A native of Ware County, Rev. Brown was the son of the late James I. Brown and the late Lola Taylor Brown. He was a resident of Laurens County for many years. He was a retired Baptist minister and was also retired from Community Mental Health Center. He was coordinator of Drug Court. His wife, Sara Brown, and grandson, Brandon Dukes, preceded him in death. Rev. Brown died Tuesday. Survivors include his wife, Donna M. Brown of Dublin; children, Paul Brown of Macon, Mississippi, Jimmy Brown of Bryceville, Fla. and Krysty B. Trnka of Bryceville, Fla.; stepchildren, Loretta Dukes of Dublin, Ray Barrentine of Louisville, Rex Barrentine of Dublin, Kenny Payne of Dublin and Van Payne Jr. of Woodstock; two sisters; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6 until 8 p.m. Townsend Brothers Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. | |
